I don't think I got to see them but I clearly remember Tangerine Dream performing in Coventry Cathedral in the 70's. it was the talk of the town for a while. Here's promo -
The live RICOCHET (sporting one of Monique Froese's more enigmatic and abstract covers) remains a high water mark amongst Tangerine Dream's vast in-concert recordings. During their notorious mid-'70s live performances, they were for a timeconsidered to be the loudest band ever--it's not hard to imagine the effect on the inner ear canals of this album's bubbling sequencers played at jet-plane volume. This is still classic electronic music.
RICOCHET is divided into two parts, which consist of the three band members pitching their towering banks of synths, sequencers, and drum machines (not to mention some galactically charged guitar) high into the winter night. Edgar Froese conducts himself mightily, erecting great black voids of synthesized matter through which swirling sequencer motifs and beat patterns eke out vast, interstellar heavenly bodies. Put this on the hi-fi, and let the Dream bounce you off the walls. Artistic backgournd of Tangerine Dream

[this is good] Amazing :) Thanks for this. It was some time in '75 if I remember well. This track reminds me a bit of Terry Riley. Good stuff...

Good stuff: But unfortunately the DVD is a bit of a bogus item as only the visuals are from what was once Coventry's largest venue. The music is from the album 'Ricochet'

Sounds common enough practice Kev to dub it with a pre-recorded track but I guess the footage was interesting. I think I wanted to go but didn't have the dosh.
