Again another short list of 70's bands from Coventry for whom I don't have much material.
Tiara Buana Jazz Band
Note - There is now a fuller post about Tiara Buana Jazz band on the new Hobo A to Z of Coventry bands - with youtube footage - here https://sites.google.com/site/bandsfromcoventrypart2/home/tiara-buana-jazz-band
Probably from another musical era of Coventry being a Jazz Band but I mention them because they were very popular during the 70's in Coventry with a long standing residency at the Earlsdon Cottage and could be found playing at many venues around Covnetry, often advertised in the Cov Telegraph and in Hobo Whatz On sections. In the mid 70's Jazz Rock was popular with a lot of bands like Trigon, Analog and some of their off shoots, Bung, Reluctant Stereotypes, Wave, Khayaam exponants of this and the Earlsdon Cottage Jazz club was a place to go with rock musicians learning from seasoned Jazz muscians.
TOADSTOOL -1970
A fuller post about Toadstool is now on http://coventryfolkclubs.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/toadstool.html
This was a folk duo led by John Brown and based at the Coventry Arts Umbrella where they ofeten played the folk club there and elsewhere. John used to give guitar lessons at the Umbrella.
THE TOREADORS (1963) (This is more than likely a reference to The Matadors - according to Broadgate Gnome)
No real info about this band but found them on the net - in the index of British Rock Bands in 1963 and I've not found a mention of them in any other Coventry band data base.
Here's the link - http://www.geocities.com/fabgear6366/infowanted.htm
TUNC 1969 / 70
A heavy rock band playing the Cov Scene in the late 60's early 70. I first saw them at the Transendental Cauldron at the Umbrella Club October 1969 and at the Plough and Colin Cambell at various times after.
I still maintain that Toreadors is a mistake ( meant the matadors)
After all that site even asks for info on the Uglies, which must be one of the most covered bands on the net from that time.
