HISTORY
Hobo - Coventry Music Scene Archives was a not-for - profit site, originally on Vox until they closed and the began in 2006, enjoying good feedback from the many Coventry musicians and fans who found it. The network is more likely to be on Facebook these days but the material remains here on Typepad. The closure of Vox resulted in the site being archived on Typepad while I redevelop / revise and reorganise the material on the sites below.
HOBO Magazine itself was a grassroots not for profit Coventry Music and Arts magazine in Coventry c 1973 -5 intitated by Trev Teasdel and John Bargent (Bo) - we also ran the HOBO WORKSHOP gigs at the Holyhead Youth Centre, to encourage new bands and artists 1974 - 5 - later moving to the Golden Cross. This site and the new ones are home to my own and collected archives of the Coventry Music Scene.

This is a huge comprehensive directory of bands fromthe 60's onwards, with bios, photos, You tube and links. Posts about bands on this site have (or will be) re-created on the the A to Z.
HOBO - COVENTRY MUSIC SCENE BLOGSPOT
Here http://coventrymusicarchives.blogspot.com/
Contains pdf copies of Hobo Magazine as well as issues which were not released at the time owing to lack of money! This site will contain all the posts relating to articles and features from Hobo as well as press cuttings and publicity etc. It will also house posts on other Coventry (and Birmingham) music magazines.
COVENTRY ARTS UMBRELLA CLUB
Here http://coventryartsumbrella.blogspot.com/
The Umbrella club was an important feature of the early Coventry Literary, music and folk and Arts scene. There are many posts relating to it on this site but we felt it it deserved its own site as part of the Coventry Music Archives. Features on the Goons who opened the Umbrella, Phillip Larkin who wrote about his Coventry poem I Remember in Umbrella magazine, the first Coventry folk club and some of the roots of Two Tone happened at the Umbrella.
COVENTRY FOLKCLUB SCENE
Here http://coventryfolkclubs.blogspot.com/
This is a new part - all of the posts realting to Coventry folk / acoustic artists or Folks magazine and folk and acoustic venues are gradually being re-devloped on this blogspot. It will include Rod Felton, Dave Bennett, Rob Armstrong, John Shannahan, Gilly Darbey, Jami Lord, Pete Willow's Folks magazine and a history of folk clubs in Coventry.
COVENTRY GIGS 1960 TO PRESENT
Here http://coventrygigs.blogspot.com/
Ostensibly, this blog was created to archive Pete Clemon's Rock of Ages columns inthe Coventry Telegraph, in which he is gradually documenting all the gigs by both local and national bands and artists in Coventry! As he publishes each new column, he sends me a copy to archive. a great resource. I have / or am adding in some of the relevant material from this site eg on Lanchester Poly and Warwick University Arts festivals, DJ's and Discos, Pete Waterman in Coventry, Coventry Chart hits 1960 to present, Trev Teasdel's Music Scene diary 1971, Virgin Records Charts (Coventry store) and more.
Coventry Discos / Venues / DJ's etc. http://covdiscoarchive.blogspot.co.uk/
This site houses posts from this site that were about Coventry discos / venues / record shops / studios etc and the books and projects - including the Coventry Music Museum / 2 Tone Central by Pete Chambers. Still a work in progress.
COVENTRY MUSICIANS WHO'S WHO
Here http://covmusicwhoswho.blogspot.com/
This was first developed on Typepad - Coventry Music Timeline for the More Than Two Tones Exhibition in 2009. It is now hosted on its own blogspot as part of the Coventry Music Archives. Much more to be done to it but its off to a good start.
Hope you enjoy the material both onthis site and the new developing sites, which will hopefully up date on most of the posts.
